Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Backup Administrator with expertise in EMC NetWorker to manage, monitor, and maintain enterprise data backup and recovery systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring data integrity, compliance with backup policies, and rapid recovery in the event of data loss or disaster.
Key Responsibilities
• Administer, configure, and maintain EMC NetWorker backup and recovery environments.
• Monitor backup jobs for successful completion and troubleshoot failures.
• Perform regular restoration tests to ensure recoverability and compliance.
• Design and implement backup strategies for physical, virtual, and cloud-based systems.
• Manage backup storage infrastructure, including tape libraries, VTLs, and Data Domain systems.
• Create and maintain backup policies, schedules, and retention settings in line with business SLAs.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to backup architecture and operational procedures.
• Work closely with the server, database, and application teams to ensure data protection for all systems.
• Perform capacity planning and performance tuning for backup infrastructure.
• Provide support during audits, disaster recovery exercises, and actual DR events.
• Ensure compliance with internal security policies and external regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX).
Desired Experience & Qualification
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology.
